Transformation and Reformation

Transformation and Reformation

In Evangelism, it must be noted that there is a clear difference and distinguishing between transformation and reformation. Here are a few highlights
Reformation: This occurs and proceeds from the preaching of the gospel of man for man, while
Transformation: results from the gospel of Christ to man. Both of them are produced by a means- words!

Reformation: This is induced by exerting the physical capabilities and powers of man, that is use of psychological and emotional powers even though sometimes it could be spiritualized, while
Transformation: is a working of the supernatural power (Holy Spirit) in the heart of man. Both of them are induced or produced from a source- power!

Reformation: It is external, hence it is temporary (fading) and needs natural push to sustain and maintain, while
Transformation: is internal and as such permanent (eternal). It has assurance of supernatural sustainability/preservation. Both of them have a feature- appearance/ form!

Reformation: The target is the response of human faculties and sometimes for the purpose of human glory. It is about what man can do, while
Transformation: is carried out not by human hands on the heart or spiritual faculties Ezekiel 36:24-28; Ephesians 2:1-2 and it’s ultimately for God’s glory. Both of them have a focus- faculties!

Reformation: It emphasizes human morals and judges by sight, while
Transformation: emphasizes grace and judges by faith.  Both has an emphasis- character!

Reformation: The end product is religiousity, while
Transformation: the end product is relationship. Both has an end product- lifestyle.

Reformation: It guarantees a good life here on earth and receives the applauds of men but has no assurance of heaven and eternal life. It still ends in hell
Transformation: It guarantees Christ’s life and likeness here on earth with or without no applause of men yet has assurance of eternal life.
Verily verily I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God…that which is born of the flesh [reformation] is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit [transformation] is Spirit… Except a man is born by water (the word, the gospel of Jesus Christ and what He has done on Calvary on account of the sinfulness and wretchedness of man) and the Spirit (transformed by the Spiritual power of the Holy Spirit and given a new heart), he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
