Satan's Strategy

Satan’s Strategy
Since the garden of Eden, Satan has always been known to have these strategy:
1. He thwarts the truth of God’s word- Has God said, you should not eat of every tree in the garden?
2. He mixes truth with error- God knows that in the day that you eat of the tree, you will be like gods knowing good from evil.
3. He feeds us with facts that are contrary to God’s truth- “You shall not surely die” meanwhile God has said that in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die.
The same strategy has been Satan’s powerful and potent tool over the ages and it has been found to be effective and efficient in his hands. Satan has thwarted the truth of God’s word by making us to believe that doctrines are not important meanwhile we have a “Positive Confession” movement that tells us to confess or profess it and receive it. It is very important to state that you cannot confess what you don’t believe. So this movement will not confess anything negative because they do not believe it’s meant for them.
Now if a sect is narrow and selective of what to confess or profess with their mouths, will it be too much to think that there must be a set of teachings (doctrine) to believe in order to be a Christian. The Bible makes it clear that Christianity is founded on doctrines and Apostolic doctrines for that matter that by the grace of God are recorded for us in the New Testament, from Romans to Revelation. When Paul talked about faith in Romans, he often referred to the saving faith that is attained by grace in the Lord Jesus Christ. However, when he was addressing Timothy, the young pastor in 1 and 2 Timothy, his usage of faith is in relation to the Christian doctrine (the collection of Christian teachings) in contrast to the perverted gospels or heresies that were permeating the church because those who believed those errors couldn’t be called Christians nor think they can be saved, so Paul instructs his son to hold fast the doctrines he has received and take proper heed to them in order for him and his audience to be saved 1 Tim. 4:16; 2 Tim. 3:10-11, 14.
Years later after Paul was gone, Jude the brother of Jesus admonished that we should contend (hold fast, preserve, struggle to maintain in a clean and pure state) the faith (doctrine) that has been once and for all delivered to the saints Jude 1:1-2. The doctrine has once and for all being given. It has been handed down once and for all. Thus, ours is to receive it and pass it down to the next generation. It cannot be renewed or reviewed. So Paul says that if we or angel comes with a “new gospel” to preach to you contrary to that which we have preached, that in essence is no gospel at all, let such be accursed. That is the seriousness and gravity attached to doctrine, which today is totally neglected. There are things to be believed in order to be a Christian and if those things are not in place, such a fellow cannot claim to be a Christian.
By the grace of God, in the next episodes, we will be considering the historical background and biblical origins of heretical teachings prevalent in this contemporary times. After that, we will be examining what a person must believe in systematic order to be called a Christian.
